the perpetual road.

Here we go: we're there again: that secret place just round the bend

that road those aliens used in the summer dark: when they came to steal our trees
with ghost-lights they came: hark now afar: music plays from yon guitar

and come: we'll dance: make all sorts of sweet romance: and stalk aliens in their silver sky

and now she's gone: and now he's gone
dreaming's not the joy it used to be: while dancing's just sweet reverie

we flip the switch: they sing strange words: to blind and break a bleeding heart

we took the turns: fulfilled the yearns: and see how now we soaring fly?

but young men all strength and will and heart: forget sometimes the dreaming part: and so comes lostness by the way

flying's nothing but different seeing: the world from all the way up north above
so if in flight you seeming fall: and as people will say, lose your all
I'll sing you songs: and it'll not be long: before you're a bird again.
